Job summary

CMR Jobs Limited is partnering with a Lancashire accountancy practice to recruit a Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will manage their own SME client portfolio, handling year-end accounts, VAT, management accounts and tax returns with strong client contact.

You will support clients using cloud software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks, answering queries and providing day-to-day advice while working closely with the wider team to deliver excellent service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a UK accountancy practice delivering year-end accounts and VAT for SMEs.
• Ability to provide day-to-day tax and business advisory support to clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for SMEs, sole traders and partnerships.
• Produce VAT returns, management accounts and tax returns.
• Be main point of contact for a portfolio of clients.
• Assist clients with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
• Respond to client queries and provide day-to-day advice.
• Collaborate with the wider team to deliver high-quality service.

We're working with a growing accountancy practice in Lancashire that's looking to bring a Senior Accountant into the team. They've built a great reputation for looking after both their clients and their staff, with plenty of opportunities to develop and progress.

You'll manage your own portfolio of SME clients, getting involved in everything from year-end accounts and VAT through to management accounts and tax returns. It's a varied role where you'll have plenty of client contact and the chance to build long-term relationships.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Producing VAT returns, management accounts and tax returns.
• Managing your own portfolio of clients and being their main point of contact.
• Supporting clients with cloud software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks.
• Answering client queries and providing day-to-day advice.
• Working closely with the wider team to deliver a great service.

What we're looking for

• Experience working in a UK accountancy practice.
• Confident preparing accounts for a range of SME clients.
• Good working knowledge of VAT and bookkeeping.
• AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part-qualified or qualified, although we're equally happy to consider someone qualified through experience.
• Someone who's personable, organised and enjoys working directly with clients.
