Job summary

AJ Chambers is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their North London boutique practice. You will manage a varied portfolio of SME and owner‑managed clients, delivering statutory and management accounts, tax returns, and proactive advisory support.

You’ll be the client’s trusted adviser, handling accounting software support, VAT queries, and day‑to‑day questions. The role offers career progression and direct Partner exposure in a friendly, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong accounts and tax compliance knowledge.
• Audit experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of SME, owner‑managed businesses, and private clients.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns.
• Act as the main point of contact, providing proactive advice and outstanding client service.
• Support clients with accounting software, VAT, and day‑to‑day business queries.

• Mentor junior members of the team where required.

Your responsibilities will include -

• Manage a portfolio of SME, owner‑managed business, and private clients.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns.
• Act as the main point of contact, providing proactive advice and outstanding client service.
• Support clients with accounting software, VAT, and day‑to‑day business queries.

You will be -

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.

• Confident managing client relationships and delivering a high level of service.
• Friendly, proactive, and commercially minded with excellent communication skills.
