Job summary

JERA Nex bp, headquartered in London, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to own end‑to‑end accounting for a portfolio of legal entities. This role requires handling transactional processing through statutory reporting and audit management within a fast‑moving international renewable energy group.

You will contribute to transfer pricing, VAT/CIT processes in the UK, and drive process improvements in a dynamic finance team. Flexible/hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and SAP S/4HANA.
• Solid working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience with VAT and CIT processes in a UK context; transfer pricing exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting for assigned legal entities, including postings, accruals, month-end close and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Manage intercompany accounting, funding transactions and acquisition bookkeeping.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax returns.
• Lead statutory audit management and support group audit requirements.
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation within accounting.

You will join the Accounting team and be part of the wider Finance department of JERA Nex bp. The team is made up of approximately 16 people working to deliver high quality and efficient accounting on a local standalone as well as consolidated group level for a multinational organisation.

In this role you will:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to take full ownership of end-to-end accounting for a portfolio of legal entities within the group. This is a hands-on, "a-z" role covering everything from transactional processing through statutory reporting and audit management.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting for assigned legal entities, including invoice posting/payments, accruals, month-end close and reconciliations

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Manage intercompany accounting, funding transactions, and acquisition-related bookkeeping

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns.

• Support transfer pricing documentation and calculations

• Perform payroll accounting and service invoice creation

• Manage accounts receivable, cash management, and liquidity planning

• Prepare UK statutory financial statements (UK GAAP) and support IFRS group reporting

• Lead statutory audit management and support group audit requirements

• Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities within the accounting function

• Implement and maintain effective internal controls.

Requirements

To be successful in the role you will bring:

• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

• 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field

• Strong proficiency in Excel and SAP S/4HANA

• Solid working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to process improvement/automation

• Experience with VAT and CIT processes in a UK context is essential; transfer pricing exposure a plus

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

• Strong ethical standards and integrity.
