Pear Talent is representing an international Financial Services business recognised as one of the best places in the UK to work, who have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant. You’ll play a key role in delivering the external financial results as well as insight, analysis and commentary. This is a high calibre team with regular exposure to senior management and a good track record of both internal progression and supporting continual professional development.

You’ll be expected to partner across the business with other teams and senior stakeholders, taking a key role within a team that produce, analyse and deliver the financial results.

Key accountabilities:

• Prepare statutory financial and regulatory reporting outputs
• Analyse the financial results to produce commentary for senior management for both internal and external reporting
• Contribute towards information to be included within Board Reports for Exec
• Business partner across Finance and the wider business to support and challenge where required as well as ensure that outputs are accurate and timely
• Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring general ledger is accurate
• Mentor junior team members
• Involved with ad-hoc finance projects and initiatives

Required experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
• Previous statutory reporting experience in Financial Services
• Alternatively, a background in FS External Audit with a Top10 accounting practice
• Familiarity with financial control environments
• Relevant experience of accounting systems and good Excel skills
