Job Description :

The Senior Account Manager (SAM) is the central "cog" of the team. It is their responsibility to manage upwards and delegate tasks effectively to ensure smooth account operations. The SAM must be proactive in identifying actions and completing them promptly, maintaining an oversight of the daily workload and ensuring junior team members (AM, SAE & AEs) meet the same high standards.

Building and maintaining strong working relationships with the core team and other agency divisions (strategy, creative & social) is vital.

Role Summary

The Senior Account Manager role is within the Account Management Team at Havas Play, covering sponsorship activation, integrated communications, digital content, and an understanding of brand marketing, experiential, and events.

The role involves working as the account lead on clients such as A sahi, Nomad, and Jet2.

Purpose of Role

The SAM is the "cog" of the team, responsible for managing account operations, building relationships with clients and internal teams, and leading project delivery. They must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to manage demands from clients, rights holders, and suppliers, prioritise requests, and coordinate the agency's expertise to meet project goals.

As the primary day-to-day client contact, the SAM should instill confidence in their ability to represent the client's interests and be viewed as a trusted advisor and key project driver.

The SAM must develop problem-solving skills, manage internal and external relationships, and support junior team members' development.

Key Responsibilities

Confidence in managing multiple accounts and workloads, demonstrating delegation skills, and maintaining high standards under pressure.

Strong writing and presentation skills, adaptable communication styles, and attention to detail in all deliverables.

Proactive approach to problem-solving, ownership of operations, and strategic thinking aligned with client objectives.

Building and maintaining relationships with clients, agency teams, external contacts, and managing line reports and development needs.

Managing creative outputs, including briefing and feedback, and overseeing campaign execution and administration.

Demonstrating industry knowledge, flagging relevant news or trends, and identifying new opportunities for clients.

Effective people management, time management, and financial processes, including budgeting, invoicing, and negotiating with suppliers.

Supporting account profitability growth and exploring scope expansion opportunities.
