Job summary

Acorn Engineering Limited is seeking a Lead AC Engineer to support a portfolio of commercial sites across South Wales and selected North Wales locations. Based in Cardiff with coverage in surrounding areas, the role is mobile, self-sufficient and client-facing, reporting to the Contract Manager.

You will maintain, service and fault-find HVAC and building services across multiple sites, prioritise workloads, and provide first-class service with a strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in Building Services, HVAC, Air Conditioning or multi-skilled engineering.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Electrical qualifications advantageous.
• Strong understanding of health & safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across a portfolio of commercial sites.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC and building services faults.
• Service and maintain air conditioning systems and associated controls.
• Complete accurate service reports and recommend remedial works.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and site contacts.
• Liaise with helpdesk, administration teams and Contract Managers to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Participate in the out-of-hours call out rota.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current legislation and company procedures.
• Manage your own diary and workload with minimal supervision.

The Role

Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repair of a variety of building services and HVAC systems across multiple commercial properties.

This is a mobile role requiring an engineer who can work independently, prioritise workloads effectively and provide a first-class service to clients.
