Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is recruiting for a 5 Axis CNC Mill Turn Programmer to join its Derby area manufacturing team. The role involves hands-on programming, setting and operating 5-axis Mill Turn machinery, with involvement from programming through to inspection and continuous improvement.

A day or double-day shift option is available on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with 5-axis CNC machines, confidence with Fanuc controls, and familiarity with Alphacam/Kreo

Qualifications

Hands-on experience programming, setting and operating CNC Mill Turn
Experience with 5-axis CNC machines
Experience with Mori Seiki / Puma MX advantageous
Confident using Fanuc controls
Experience using CAD/CAM software (Alphacam/Kreo)
Able to set tooling, offsets and workholding and prove out new programmes
Confident inspecting machined components with micrometers, verniers and CMM

Responsibilities

Setting, operating, editing and programming 5-axis CNC Mill Turn machines (Mori Seiki/Puma MX)
Programming with CAD/CAM software and Fanuc controls
Setting tooling, offsets and workholding
Proving out new programmes and ensuring parts meet specifications
Optimising toolpaths, methods and cycle times
Carrying out component inspection with micrometers and CMM equipment
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specs
Collaborating with Production, Engineering and Quality on improvements
Maintaining high standards of quality throughout manufacturing process
