Job summary

Leidos UK is seeking a 3rd Line Network Engineer to provide expert fault rectification, incident support, CSI, and occasional Change Requests for core network systems. You will handle high‑level troubleshooting, liaise with stakeholders and work across secure LAN/WAN environments.

The role requires hands-on experience with Cisco LAN, VMware NSX and firewalls from Fortigate, Palo Alto and Juniper, plus ITIL service delivery.

Qualifications

Thorough understanding of Cisco Enterprise LAN environments at 3rd line level.
Security boundaries and rulesets in Secure LAN environments.
WAN connectivity and routing protocols experience.
Troubleshooting Layer 2/3 switching and routing.
Config & troubleshooting of VPC, VDC, STP, BGP, OSPF.
Config & troubleshooting Fortigate, Sonicwall, Palo Alto, ForcePoint, ASAv.
Excellent communications and autonomous working ability.
Experience in ITIL ICT service delivery on critical infrastructure.
Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.
Patch management experience.

Responsibilities

System Support & Ticket resolution - keep Core Network estate online and incidents resolved to KPI/SLA.
Problem Resolution - root cause analysis with resolver groups, vendors and users.
Maintenance - periodic maintenance and upgrades to stay ahead of obsolescence.
Documentation - maintain config changes and log work in SD+.
Resource Movement - assist in configuration, installation and deployment of infrastructure.
Participation in Projects - contribute to implementation, build and testing phases.
