Job summary
J Browne Construction in Ilkeston seeks a Senior BIM / 3D CAD Technician to lead the Design Team and coordinate BIM/3D CAD processes for major water and wastewater projects.
You will develop high-quality 3D models, mentor BIM/CAD technicians, ensure outputs meet technical and client expectations, and guide the team in integrated model delivery. Office-based with site presence required 3 days/week.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in CAD/BIM design with leadership or management roles in water/infrastructure.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale water/wastewater projects using BIM/3D modelling workflows.
- Expertise with BIM software (Revit, Navisworks) and CAD tools (AutoCAD), including clash detection and model coordination.
- Experience developing and implementing BIM standards and workflows.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations and digital design requirements.

We’re looking for a Senior BIM / 3D CAD Technician to take a leading role within our Design Team, driving the implementation and coordination of BIM and 3D CAD processes across major water and wastewater treatment projects.
In this position, you’ll oversee the development of high‑quality 3D models and digital designs while managing a team of BIM/CAD technicians, ensuring every output meets project, technical, regulatory, and client expectations.
You will champion BIM standards, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, support clash detection and design reviews, and maintain the integrity of design data throughout the project lifecycle. With advanced expertise in digital design tools, you will guide the team in producing accurate, efficient, and integrated models that enhance collaboration, innovation, and holistic project delivery.
Please note that this role requires you to be in the office or on site at least 3 times a week.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent industry experience.
