Vacancy: Senior 2 Radiographer - X-ray and CT

Department: Radiology

Location: Cromwell Hospital, 164-178 Cromwell Road, Kensington, London SW5 0TU

Hours: FULL TIME / PERMANENT, 37.5 hours per week (3 long days on rota)

Salary: from £43,155 to £45,693 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) plus Bupa benefits.

About The Cromwell Hospital

The Cromwell Hospital is a major international private hospital in West London, serving both UK and international patients. We are committed to providing high-quality healthcare services, including outpatient and inpatient care. The hospital has 180 beds, 4 suites, 6 theatres, various wards, ICU facilities, paediatrics, diagnostic services, physiotherapy, and a dedicated day surgery unit.

Our radiography services include Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, MRI, CT, General/X-ray, and Mammography. We also collaborate with Genesis Care for therapeutic services. The department is ISO 9001:2015 accredited and provides a range of examinations for various medical conditions.

The post involves working in both the CT and General X-ray departments, performing CT scans and general X-rays, with flexibility to participate in out-of-hours, night, and weekend rotas. The CT department houses a Siemens scanner and handles diverse examinations, including full-body, neurological, cardiac, and biopsies. The X-ray department includes general X-ray rooms, an OPG machine, fluoroscopy, DEXA, and mammography, with additional imaging in theatres, recovery, and ICU.

What you’ll do:
  • Work with a team of Senior Radiographers, reporting to the Superintendent, to deliver high-quality service.
  • Maintain monitoring standards for patient care, technical performance, and reporting.
  • Assist in equipment care, ensuring cleanliness and reporting faults.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs for equipment, processing, and radiation safety.
  • Maintain and develop booking, information, reporting, and filing systems.
  • Participate in a departmental on-call rota and work flexible hours as needed.
What you’ll bring:
  • BSc or DCR in Radiography - essential
  • Proficiency with RIS, PACS, and patient/examination documentation systems
  • Registration with HCPC - essential
  • Post-graduate experience as a Senior II / Band 5 Radiographer - essential
  • Tact and empathy in patient interactions
