Job summary

Whitley Park Primary and Nursery School is seeking a compassionate SENDCo Assistant to support inclusion, wellbeing and pupil success. You will work with the SENDCo and staff to monitor plans, liaise with families and external agencies, and contribute to whole-school mental health initiatives.

The role requires experience with SEND/SEMH, safeguarding knowledge and the ability to manage a varied workload while remaining collaborative and organised.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive practice and safeguarding.
  • Ability to stay organised and manage varied workload.
  • Experience working with families and external agencies is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support the SENDCo in strategic and operational leadership of SEND provision across the school.
  • Help coordinate and monitor support plans, EHCPs, and interventions.
  • Work with teachers and staff to promote high-quality inclusive practice.
  • Lead on whole-school approaches to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide guidance to staff on meeting social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies.

33.25 Hours per week, TTO plus 2 insets days

We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, skilled, and proactive SENDCo Assistant to join our team. This is a vital role supporting the inclusion, wellbeing, and success of all pupils, particularly those with additional needs. We are a nurturing and inclusive school community, committed to ensuring every child feels safe, supported, and able to thrive. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about SEND provision.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SENDCo in the strategic and operational leadership of SEND provision across the school

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality inclusive practice
  • Lead on whole-school approaches to mental health and wellbeing
