Job summary

Keys Education in Scunthorpe is seeking a SENDCo to lead and coordinate SEND provision, ensuring personalised, high-quality support for pupils and promoting inclusive practice.

You will collaborate with staff, parents and external agencies, carry out EHCP reviews, and contribute to safeguarding and staff development within a supportive SEMH college environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have accredited SENDCo qualification.
  • QTS or QTLS status required.
  • Passionate about education and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision within the school.
  • Complete Annual, Interim and Emergency EHCP reviews.
  • Oversee safeguarding and looked-after pupils.
  • Advise on budget and resources for SEND needs.

SENDCo - Southpark Enterprise College, Newdown Court, Newdown Road, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, DN17 2TX

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 | Full Time (40 hours/week)

Purpose of the Role

To lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring that all pupils receive personalised, high-quality support that enables them to achieve their potential. The SENDCO will champion inclusive practice, work collaboratively with staff and external agencies, and model professional integrity and the EPIC values as outlined in the Staff Code of Conduct.

At Southpark Enterprise College

South Park Enterprise College is an independent SEMH specialist school for students aged 11-16, many with EHCPs and diagnoses such as ADHD or ASD. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for young people who have struggled in mainstream schools or face exclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school.
  • Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP's in line with the SEND code of practice
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
  • Oversee the looked after pupils within the school
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
  • Advise on the use of school's budget and other resources to meet pupils' needs effectively, including staff development
  • Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
  • Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources
  • Lead on interventions that will support all pupils
  • Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision.
  • Attend and review PEP meetings
Requirements
  • Have an accredited SENDCo qualification
  • Hold QTS or QTLS
  • Are passionate about education and inclusion
  • Have leadership experience and qualities
  • Are ready to develop their leadership skills within a schoolCan effectively manage the SEND provision in partnership with the Headteacher
