Job summary

Stopsley High School is seeking an experienced SENDCO to lead and develop the SEND team from January 2027. The successful candidate will shape SEND provision, drive school-wide improvement, and model evidence-based practice for staff CPD.

As a high-impact leader, you will work across the Trust to share best practice, deliver robust CPD, and raise outcomes for SEND students. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on collaboration for positive change.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading a SEND department with a track record of raising standards.
  • Ability to design and deliver school-wide CPD and staff training.
  • Evidence of implementing research-informed practice to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the SEND team and drive improvement across the department.
  • Ensure high standards across SEND provision and engage with Trust-wide initiatives.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced SENDCO to join our team at Stopsley High School and will lead the development of our SEND team. The successful candidate would play a pivotal role in leading our excellent SEND department and make a profound impact on the lives of our SEND students.

As well as being an excellent subject or pastoral leader, the candidate should have a proven track record in leading positive change and have the drive and commitment to ensure that high standards are met. The candidate will appreciate and engage with the latest research and be confident enough to deliver school wide CPD.

Stopsley High School has been on a rapid improvement journey, becoming an academy in September 2021 and joining the Middlesex Learning Trust. Our school has benefited from collaborative networking across the Trust, opportunities to share best practice, and access to innovative training.

This hard work was recognised in our Ofsted inspection in September 2022, where we were graded "Good" in all five areas.
