Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Liverpool is seeking a passionate SEND Tutor to provide individualised support to learners across Liverpool with a range of additional needs. The role focuses on building a positive relationship with the learner and delivering tailored 1:1 sessions aligned to their abilities and educational goals.

This opportunity suits someone who enjoys personalised work, making a genuine difference in a young person’s education, and is offered on a part-time basis with 5–15 hours weekly

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience
• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs
• QTS or equivalent qualification desirable
• Patient, creative and adaptable approach

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised 1:1 educational support to learners with SEND.
• Build positive relationships and tailor sessions to abilities and goals.
• Deliver sessions with Liverpool-based learners on a part-time basis starting Sep 2026.

We are looking for experienced teachers, tutors and mentors to deliver 1:1 educational support to children and young people with a range of additional needs.

The successful tutor will build a positive relationship with their learner and create engaging sessions tailored to their individual abilities, interests and educational goals.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience
• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs
• QTS or equivalent qualification desirable
• Patient, creative and adaptable approach

To be eligible for this role,

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references
