This is a great opportunity for a Teacher, Tutor, HLTA, SEND professional or experienced Learning Support professional who enjoys working creatively with young people and wants a role where no two days are quite the same.

You’ll combine education, outreach and real-world learning, helping young people develop their Maths, English, communication, confidence and independence in ways that are relevant to everyday life.

One day might involve Functional Skills Maths and English in the morning, followed by a trip into the community. Another could include practical budgeting, shopping, cooking, planning an activity or supporting a young person to build confidence doing something independently.

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group SEND tuition
  • Supporting young people working towards individual learning goals
  • Making learning practical, engaging and relevant to everyday life
  • Developing confidence, communication and independence
  • Supporting life skills such as budgeting, shopping and making choices
  • Taking learning into the local community
  • Supporting educational visits, activities and trips
  • Encouraging participation in new activities and experiences
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with learners
  • Working alongside teachers and the wider specialist education team
  • Adapting activities and learning to suit individual needs

The emphasis is on making education meaningful and helping young people develop skills they can use both now and in the future.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about helping young people progress
  • Confident supporting learning on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Patient, positive and encouraging
  • Able to build strong relationships with young people
  • Creative and flexible in their approach to learning
  • Interested in practical and community-based education
  • Comfortable supporting young people outside the traditional classroom
  • Reliable, proactive and happy to get involved
