Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a SEND Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition in Clacton, Essex. The role involves home visits or in-library/alternative locations across the area, with hourly commitments of 5–15 hours per week and an ASAP start.

Ongoing placement is offered, with safeguarding checks and DBS requirements as part of the process. The ideal candidate will have experience with children or young people, SEND support experience, and the ability to adapt lessons to individual needs

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner in Clacton, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor or teacher who is confident adapting lessons to suit individual needs and can build a positive, supportive relationship with a learner who may have experienced barriers to education. Often the successful candidate would be required to conduct lessons in the young person's home, in local council libraries, youth centres or other locations outside of the mainstream learning environment.

Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition that has been tailored specifically to the young person.

Requirements

Relevant teaching/tutoring experience or qualification desirable
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Right to Work in the UK
Two professional child-related references

To be eligible for the Part Time 1:1 Tutor position through Prospero Teaching you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
