Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner in Clacton, Essex. The role often involves visiting the learner at home, in local libraries, youth centres or other community locations, adapting lessons to individual needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor who can build a positive, supportive relationship with a learner who may have faced barriers to education. Start ASAP with ongoing duration.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND.
• Patient, adaptable and encouraging approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• DSB certificate (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to Work in the UK.
• Two professional child-related references.

SEND Tutor - Clacton, Essex

Location: Clacton, Essex
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP

Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner in Clacton, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor or teacher who is confident adapting lessons to suit individual needs and can build a positive, supportive relationship with a learner who may have experienced barriers to education. Often the successful candidate would be required to conduct lessons in the young person's home, in local council libraries, youth centres or other locations outside of the mainstream learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Able to conduct baseline assessments.

Be able to write lesson plans, use relevant resources and adapt to different teaching methods.

Build confidence and create a positive learning environment.

Monitor learning progress and provide feedback.

Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition that has been tailored specifically to the young person.

Requirements
Experience working with children or young people

Relevant teaching/tutoring experience or qualification desirable
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

To be eligible for the Part Time 1:1 Tutor position through Prospero Teaching you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
