The Role

As a SEN / SEND Tutor

Provide tailored, 1:1 tuition in Maths, English, or Science to students with SEND, SEMH, and other additional needs.

Adapt teaching methods to suit the individual learning styles and requirements of each student, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Deliver both in-person and online sessions , depending on your location and the needs of the student.

Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to families, schools, and local authorities to ensure effective, collaborative support.

Work in a trauma-informed manner, promoting positive engagement and building trust with students who may have faced challenges in mainstream education.

Essential Requirements

Experience

Qualifications : A relevant teaching qualification, such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent.

Skills : Strong communication and relationship-building abilities; capacity to adapt teaching styles and create structured, engaging learning plans.

DBS check : An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable Skills And Experience (Not Essential)

Specialist knowledge in areas such as autism ADHD, dyslexiaSEMH, ,other additional needs, or .

Training in safeguardingmental health support, ,de-escalation techniquesor .

Experience with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) .

Driving licence and access to a vehicle for in-person tutoring (preferred but not essential).
