Job summary

Protocol in Hull is recruiting a SEND Tutor to support NEET learners aged 16-24. You will deliver engaging teaching sessions, provide academic tutorials and mentoring, and offer pastoral support to help learners build confidence, independence and employability skills.

We are currently recruiting for a SEND Tutor to support young people aged 16-24 with additional learning needs who are no longer in education, employment, or training (NEETs). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping learners develop confidence, independence, employability skills, and positive progression pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching and learning sessions to NEET learners aged 16-24.
• Provide academic tutorials, mentoring, and pastoral support to help learners achieve their goals.
• Develop learner's employability skills, confidence, independence, and engagement.
• Monitor and record learner attendance, progress, achievement, and outcomes.
• Support learners in progressing into further education, training, apprenticeships, or employment.
• Work with young people who may have disengaged from education or face barriers to learning and employment.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Support recruitment, enrolment, and outreach activities.
• Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to reviews and support plans.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure learners receive the support they need.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with young people aged 16-24 with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Background in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, learner support, or employability programmes.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• A patient, supportive, and learner-centred approach.
• Passion for helping young people overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.
