Job summary

Civic Recruitment and Limited is recruiting for a 5-month contract role with a local authority to provide safe, reliable transport for SEND passengers. You will drive PCV vehicles in accordance with DVSA regulations, ensuring passengers travel securely, on time, and with dignity.

Term-time only with split shifts, mornings and afternoons. Requires a full UK driving licence category D, a valid digital tachograph card, and an Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• PCV driving experience is essential.
• Experience in SEND/education or social care is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS and Tachograph compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport SEND passengers to schools, colleges and care settings.
• Operate PCV vehicles in line with DVSA regulations and policies.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
• Support passengers with additional needs in a calm, respectful manner.
• Collaborate with SEND Passenger Assistants as needed.
• Maintain journey logs and incident records.
• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety and equality standards.
