Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in mainstream primary schools across Sutton, South London, from September. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored 1:1 support and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months experience, is DBS checked, and can commit to Monday to Friday availability. Level 2 TA qualification (Level 3 desirable) is preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
  • Available Monday to Friday.
  • Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable).
  • Experience in SEND or inclusion preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support for your assigned pupil.
  • Support SEND including ASD, ADHD, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP targets and support plans.
  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the pupil.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored 1:1 support for pupils with a variety of additional needs, helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment where every child can succeed.

The Role:
  • Provide 1:1 tailored support for your assigned pupil
  • Be confident to support SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Emotional Disregulation
  • Support learning, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP target and support plan
  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the child
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
  • At least 6 months experience supporting children with additional needs
  • Ideally hold minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable)
  • Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion
  • Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to pupil progress and well-being
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • Available Monday to Friday
Pay:

95 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. 100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting prupils with SEND including ASC, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
