Job summary

TimePlan Education Group Limited is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming school in Sutton, starting September 2026. The role is full-time, term-time only, with hours 8am–4pm and a focus on supporting children with SEND to reach their full potential.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups, assisting students to access the curriculum and participate in school life, under the guidance of the SENDCo. DBS Update Service is preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals with SEND is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, caring and proactive approach.
  • Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS via Update Service if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and mental health needs.
  • Work with the SENDCo to implement tailored support strategies.

  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.

Job description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive school in Sutton for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing educational environment.

Location: Sutton

Start Date: September 2026

Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Assist students in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in school life.
  • Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience supporting individuals with SEND is advantageous but not essential.
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Can commit to the hours between 8am and 4pm
