Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across specialist and mainstream education settings, supporting pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and additional learning needs.

We have opportunities ranging from flexible day-to-day supply through to long-term roles, ideal for experienced TAs or those transferring from care, support work or working with young people.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is desirable.
• Background in care, support work, youth work or related settings welcomed.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one is expected.
• Team Teach, Makaton or PECS training is highly desirable.
• Level 2/3 TA qualifications are desirable but not essential for all roles.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils.
• Supporting pupils with Autism and other needs.
• Helping pupils access classroom activities and learning.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Implementing individual learning and behaviour support strategies.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement.
• Supporting pupils during practical and creative activities.
• Working with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and other professionals.
• Helping create a calm, safe and positive learning environment.
• Providing personal care where required by the role.

Aspire People are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across specialist and mainstream education settings, supporting pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and additional learning needs.

We have opportunities ranging from flexible day-to-day supply through to long-term roles, making this ideal whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant or have transferable experience from care, support work or working with young people.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing 1:1 and small group support
• Supporting pupils with Autism and additional learning needs
• Helping pupils access classroom activities and learning
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development
• Implementing individual learning and behaviour support strategies

• Confidence supporting behaviour and individual needs
• Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, Autism or other relevant training is highly desirable
• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential for all roles
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
