Job summary

Juniper Training in Walsall is seeking a part-time SEND Teaching Assistant to support learners aged 16–24 with EHCPs at our Walsall Training Centre. The role focuses on delivering group activities and targeted 1-to-1 support to help students gain skills and confidence.

You will work with the SEND Tutor to plan and deliver tailored content, ensuring reasonable adjustments and an inclusive environment. A Level 3 TA qualification and safeguarding credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths (minimum).
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
• Qualifications and/or experience in supporting SEND learners.
• Experience of working with young people with additional needs.
• Safeguarding and/or Equality & Diversity qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners in the classroom alongside the SEND Tutor to deliver group sessions and 1-to-1 interventions.
• Helping learners progress through community projects, external speakers, visits and enterprise activities.
• Providing personalised support by planning, organising and delivering content based on EHCPs with reasonable adjustments.
• Building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues to create an inclusive environment.
• Assisting with assessment, marking and reviews while promoting attendance and good behavior.
