Job summary

School of Coding is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support classroom activities, assist with lesson preparation and supervise student learning. You will help with assignments, provide in-class explanations, and assist with grading and progress tracking.

The role involves using classroom tech and supporting students of varied abilities in a dynamic learning environment. Ideal candidates will have GCSEs, strong communication, and a calm, patient approach.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs 2+ at grades 9–3 (A*–D) for level 2 courses.
  • GCSEs 4–5 at grades 9–4 (A*–C), including English and maths for a level 3 course.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with teachers and younger individuals.
  • Ability to create an encouraging learning environment for pupils.
  • Active listening skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with lesson preparation and planning.
  • Set up equipment and materials for lessons.
  • Help students with assignments or classwork and supervise activities.
  • Provide additional explanations or assistance as needed.
  • Grading and recording grades, providing feedback to students.
  • Perform administrative tasks like organising materials and communicating with parents.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to pupil progress reports.
