Job summary

Justteachers Ltd. is seeking a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Leeds area on a long-term basis. The role starts immediately and involves assisting learners with SEND to participate in lessons and school life.

The ideal candidate will have qualifications in education or related fields, experience with SEND, and a collaborative approach to support plans and wellbeing for students in a secondary setting.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, or support work.
• Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ideally in a secondary setting.
• Strong knowledge of behaviour management, de-escalation strategies, and emotional regulation approaches.
• Two professional references, ideally from education or school-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEND to engage positively in lessons and the wider school environment.
• Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities and differentiated support.

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Leeds area on a long-term basis.

This full-time role is available to start immediately, with shortlisting currently underway. The school is dedicated to providing a structured, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can achieve both academically and personally

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEND to engage positively in lessons and the wider school environment
• Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities and differentiated support
• Implementing behaviour management strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and individual support plans
