Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support KS1 and KS2 pupils at a welcoming North London primary school in Tottenham. You’ll work across 1:1 and small groups, helping children feel safe, seen and supported.

The role involves building routine, using de-escalation strategies and sensory interventions to manage emotional and behavioural needs, and collaborating with teachers, parents and inclusion teams to ensure progress.

Qualifications

• Team Teach or PEBS training required.
• Experience supporting children with SEND in KS1/KS2.
• Calm, proactive approach with a good sense of humour.
• Ability to support regulation, transitions and behaviour plans.

Responsibilities

A welcoming North London primary school is on the lookout for a skilled SEND Teaching Assistant to work across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The pupils you'll support need consistency, kindness, and someone who’s got the confidence to step in when things get tricky.

This isn’t just a classroom support role. It's an opportunity to shape a child’s whole day, every day.

What you'll be doing:

• Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with SEND (including ASD, SEMH, and ADHD)

• Helping children build trust, routine, and confidence across learning and play

• Using de-escalation strategies and sensory interventions to manage emotional and behavioural needs

• Working with class teachers, parents, and the school’s pastoral and inclusion teams to ensure consistency and progress

What we're looking for:

• Someone confident supporting children with regulation, transitions, and behaviour plans
