Job summary

Protocol Education is working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Bath, Midsomer Norton and surrounding areas, seeking compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support children with additional needs.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support, deliver one-to-one and small group interventions, and help create an inclusive learning environment. We offer flexible roles, long-term and permanent opportunities, and CPD training.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
• Patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.
• Ability to stay calm and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Understand the importance of routine, consistency and positive reinforcement.
• Passionate about helping every child succeed.
• Desirable: SEND, behaviour, mental health or wellbeing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
• Deliver one-to-one support and small group interventions.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
• Encourage independence, resilience and self-confidence.
• Work closely with teachers and SENDCOs to support pupil progress.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Build positive relationships that help children feel valued, understood and supported.
