Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking a flexible and caring Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with barriers to learning across Kirklees and West Yorkshire. You will work 1:1 or with groups, helping pupils access work set by teachers and navigate challenging days at school with empathy and initiative.

You should have experience working with children and an understanding of safeguarding in schools. A DBS check is required, and you'll join a supportive team offering ongoing guidance and

Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant

Versatile, Empathetic and Caring Individuals Needed to Support a Range of Student's with Barriers to Learning.

This is a great opportunity to become a positive support mechanism and role model in the lives of secondary School students across Kirklees. You will work as either 1:1 or with groups in helping young people with a range of barriers to learning, to access work set by class teachers and to navigate what can be very challenging days at school. Each day will bring a new challenge and also a new opportunity to help the child overcome daily difficulties and flourish at school. Doing this through academics means that, instead of committing to a restricting role in a specific school, you can try different schools, different age groups, and the different ways in which you can be a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant, in order to find your place and your career.
