Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in a state-of-the-art special needs school in Croydon, starting from September 2026. The role involves supporting pupils with diverse needs across Early Years, Primary and Secondary, with ongoing training offered throughout the placement.

No previous school or special needs experience is required; commitment, enthusiasm, patience and a genuine desire to support children are valued.

Qualifications

• No prior school or special needs experience required.
• Demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and patience.
• Genuine desire to support children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with tailored numeracy and literacy activities.
• Develop speech, language and communication skills.
• Teach vocabulary and comprehension using visual resources.
• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis.
• Encourage social interaction and emotional development.
• Assist with creative and therapeutic activities (art, music, swimming, cooking, K9 therapy, sensory play).
