Job summary

Swale Academies Trust is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant for Beaver Green Primary School in Swanley, Kent. The role is a fixed-term contract (1 year), term-time only, with an ASAP start. Salary ranges £25,316–£26,378 FTE.

Responsibilities include supporting classroom activities, assisting EHCPs, providing 1:1 or small group support, and helping children with SEND/SEMH needs while maintaining a safe, positive learning environment. Interviews scheduled for Friday 13th November 2026.

Qualifications

• We are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant and welcome applicants from both experienced and non-experienced TA backgrounds.
• Commitment to supporting pupils with SEND, including those with SEMH and communication needs.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to a positive learning environment.

We are seeking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant and welcome applicants from both experienced teaching assistants and non-experienced teaching assistants.

The successful candidate will:

• Support classroom activities to ensure full engagement and full participation for all pupils
• Assist in implementing EHCP and personalised plans under the direction of the SENCO and class teacher
• Provide 1-1 or small group support to children with SEND needs
• Support children with SEMH needs
• Support Communication and Interaction for children with limited language.
• Promote a positive and safe learning environment
• Monitor student progress and report back to the class teacher and SENCO
• Communicate effectively with staff members and parents regarding student progress
• Value all pupils as individuals and put them at the heart of everything you do.
• Make learning fun and challenging.
• Be able to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Work in partnership with all stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
