Job summary

Beaver Green Primary School, part of Swale Academies Trust, is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a fixed-term contract (1 year) working 36 hours per week during term time. The role supports pupils with EHCPs and SEND needs under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.

Successful applicants will be experienced teaching assistants or motivated newcomers, with a commitment to inclusive practice and collaboration with staff, parents, and the wider school community.

Qualifications

• Experience as teaching assistant (preferred).
• Ability to support pupils with EHCP plans under SENCO guidance.
• Strong communication with staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom activities to engage all pupils.
• Assist with EHCP and personalised plans under SENCO guidance.
• Provide 1-1 or small group support for SEND.
• Support SEMH needs and communication for limited language.
• Promote a positive, safe learning environment.
• Monitor progress and report to class teacher and SENCO.
• Collaborate with staff and parents on pupil progress.
• Work as part of a team to achieve outcomes.
• Value pupils and make learning enjoyable.
• Partner with stakeholders for best outcomes.
