Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd is the MSP for Ascent Academies' Trust and is seeking enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils across specialist academies in the North East. The role offers regular day-to-day, short-term and long-term supply opportunities throughout the academic year.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or similar setting.
• Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Patient, caring and positive approach.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Confidence to support pupils with a range of individual needs.
• Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different specialist settings.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to children and young people with a range of additional needs.
• One-to-one and small-group support as required.
• Support pupils to access learning and promote independence.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and collaborate with teachers and other staff.
