Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking SEND Teaching Assistants to work in various primary schools across Wigan, starting September 2025. Successful candidates will provide vital support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in inclusive environments, with flexible working options and competitive pay rates.

SEND Teaching Assistants Wanted – September Start
Location: Wigan & Surrounding Areas
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Part-Time, Day-to-Day, Short & Long-Term Placements
Pay: Competitive daily rates depending on experience

Are you a passionate, patient, and dedicated individual with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently recruiting reliable and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of primary schools across Wigan and the surrounding areas, with positions available from September 2025. You will play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs thrive in a supportive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in school, care, or community settings).
  • A nurturing and proactive approach to learning support.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE, or similar) are beneficial but not essential.
