Milk Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Sheffield.
The school is looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with SEND and can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEND TA looking for a rewarding long-term role within a supportive primary school environment.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
Support pupils with their learning, development and communication
Help children access the curriculum and develop their independence
Provide emotional and behavioural support where required
Work alongside the class teacher and SENDCO to implement individual support strategies
Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs
Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion
Support pupils with their social and emotional development
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working with children with SEND
Has experience working within a UK primary school or similar educational setting
Is confident supporting children on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Is patient, nurturing and understanding
Can manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
Is proactive and able to use their initiative
Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential
Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties or complex needs would be highly desirable.
