Cover-People is recruiting for a Long-Term SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 autism support in a primary school in Runcorn. The role starts 3rd September and is full-time term-time only on a long-term supply basis, with potential to go perm. Salary is £95-£115 per day, paid PAYE direct via Cover People.
The successful candidate will support two pupils with ASC (one Year 3, one Year 6 with PDA traits) and work closely with the school staff to promote emotional wellbeing and academic progress.
Location: Runcorn, WA7.
Start Date: 3rd September
Hours: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Contract: Long-Term Supply, could eventually go perm.

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism?
We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Runcorn (WA7) for a skilled and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide specialist 1:1 support for two pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong autism experience who can build positive relationships, adapt their approach to individual needs, and help pupils thrive both emotionally and academically.
You will provide dedicated support for:
Following recommendations from the Educational Psychologist, support will be delivered in shorter sessions throughout the school day, with changes of adult to promote engagement and wellbeing. The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time supporting the Year 6 pupil.
When either pupil is absent, you may be asked to provide support for other children within the school.
This role is being offered on a long-term supply basis while the school recommences recruitment for a permanent member of staff. The placement is expected to continue while the permanent recruitment process is underway.
