Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in the UK. You will join the specialist SEND Resource Base from January 2027 on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 30 hours per week across 38 teaching weeks.

You will support pupils with communication and interaction needs, working closely with the SEN Teacher, SEND team and SENCo to help them access learning and reach individual goals.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND is desirable.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

SEND Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEND Resource Base from January 2027 on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

Working closely with the SEN Teacher, SEND team and SENCo, you will support a small group of pupils with communication and interaction needs, helping them access learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual goals. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children with high levels of SEND.

The Role
