Holland Junior School is seeking two teaching assistants for Maple Class and our Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP). The SEND Unit is expanding with a second class in the Autumn Term. The role runs 08:30–15:30, Monday to Friday during term time, supporting pupils with SEND under the guidance of the SENDCo.
You will join a skilled team across the school and Trust, receive ongoing CPD, and help enable inclusive learning with bespoke planning and strategies for autistic learners.
We are looking to recruit 2 teaching assistants for Maple Class, our SEND Unit (ELP), which is opening a second class in the Autumn Term. The working hours are 08:30-15:30 with a 30 minute break, Monday to Friday during term time. We have a team of teachers and Teaching Assistants who work alongside our very experienced SENDCo to provide exceptional care and guidance for our pupils with SEND. We also have a strong team of experienced teaching assistants across the school who work in classes, as well as working in our SEND unit – Maple Class – which is a Communication and Interaction Centre for children on the Autistic Spectrum with communication and interaction difficulties. We have a highly skilled team working in Maple class and across the school and Trust as a centre of excellence.
The Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) at Holland Junior School aims to provide an engaging, safe and personalised learning environment. Our objectives include encouraging students to develop independent learning skills whilst nurturing opportunities for our learners to express themselves in a wide variety of ways.
Students with ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) benefit from personalised and adapted learning experiences. Our curriculum is centred around the children, ensuring their specific needs are catered for with bespoke planning and resourcing. Developing positive interactions/communication with peers and adults is woven into the school day.

An Enhanced DBS certificate will be required on provisional offer, including a check of the Children’s Barred List. Further vetting checks, in line with the requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025 will be completed following a provisional offer of appointment. Where applicable, if an applicant with a provisional offer of employment has lived and/or worked outside the UK, they will be required to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct or other overseas police check. Candidates will be required to arrange this themselves if they do not already have the necessary certificate.
