About Us:

Are you committed to excellence for children

We are looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work alongside a supportive staff team in a Barking & Dagenham Primary School. You would be working in an intervention class, working with groups and individual children. All the children have a diagnosis of autism. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have bags of resilience and some sensory experience to plan activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SEN children on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Understanding of Autism and challenging behaviour
  • Have experience in planning sensory based activities
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with ASD/SEMH pupils
  • Knowledge: Good understanding of behaviour management
  • Desirable: Experience working with children with SEN in a school/ provision.
