Job summary

Wood Field Primary School's Oak Field SEND Base is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. You will work alongside teachers to enable learning, help pupils engage, and build confidence and skills across the school day.

You will implement behaviour support plans, prepare learning materials, and adapt resources to meet individual targets, ensuring inclusive learning and progress for every child.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement agreed-upon behaviour support strategies (e.g., Positive Behaviour Support plans) to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour.
• Prepare, set up, and tidy away learning materials, including specialized resources for sensory or physical needs.
• Assist the teacher in modifying and adapting learning materials (e.g., simplifying instructions, creating visual aids, using specialized equipment) to meet Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan targets.

At Oak Field SEND Base (As part of Wood Field Primary School), we believe that the right support can transform a child's educational experience. We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team and help pupils achieve success.

Working alongside teachers and other colleagues, you will provide targeted support that enables children to engage with learning, overcome challenges and develop the confidence and skills they need to flourish throughout their education.

What You Will Do As A SEND Teaching Assistant:
