Job summary

Greenshaw Learning Trust’s Wood Field Primary is seeking a dedicated learning support assistant to help pupils regulate behaviour and adapt learning materials. You will implement agreed behaviour support strategies and prepare, set up, and tidy learning resources, including specialized materials for sensory or physical needs.

In this role you’ll work under the direction of teachers, build positive relationships with pupils, and support IEP/EHC targets.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement agreed-upon behaviour support strategies to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour.
• Prepare, set up, and tidy away learning materials, including specialized resources for sensory or physical needs.
• Assist the teacher in modifying and adapting learning materials to meet IEP or EHC Plan targets.

• Implement agreed-upon behaviour support strategies (e.g., Positive Behaviour Support plans) to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour.
• Prepare, set up, and tidy away learning materials, including specialized resources for sensory or physical needs.
• Assist the teacher in modifying and adapting learning materials (e.g., simplifying instructions, creating visual aids, using specialized equipment) to meet Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan targets.
