Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience working with children with varying needs, or a background in Psychology with a keen interest in education and development?

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a specialist SEN school in Kent. This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one support to students with a range of SEND requirements, ensuring their learning and development is fully tailored to their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Key Responsibilities as an SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Deliver personalised, one-to-one support to pupils with diverse and complex SEND needs.

  • Implement and adapt support strategies in line with each student s EHCP.

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure effective delivery of support.

  • Help students build confidence, social skills, and independence in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents.

What we are looking for from an SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience working in a SEND or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting is highly desirable.

  • Psychology graduates with a genuine passion for working with young people are encouraged to apply.

  • Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic, with a flexible and proactive approach.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

This is a fantastic opportunity as an SEND Teaching Assistant to be part of a dedicated team, helping young people thrive in a specialist setting where every child s needs and potential are recognised and supported.
