Job summary

Connex Education is seeking two experienced SEND Teaching Assistants for a school in Chester. The role involves supporting students with Autism and challenging behaviours in a well-resourced setting from 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. Suitable candidates may secure permanent positions after temporary assignments, and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school or similar setting is essential.
• Must have a current DBS or willing to obtain one.
• Team Teach qualification preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism in both primary and secondary age groups.
• Work collaboratively in a heavily staffed environment to support 1:1 funding needs.

About the Role:

Connex Education are looking for 2 experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a school in Chester on a full time basis. The working hours are 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

About the School:

The school cater for both primary and secondary aged students with Autism. Well equipped with sensory rooms, outdoor areas and state of the art technology. Due to the needs of the students, each student has funding for 1:1, there fore classrooms are heavily staffed. Students are encouraged to understand their own emotions and take responsibility for their behaviours.

Assignment Details:

The Headteacher is ideally looking for 2 Teaching Assistants to start immediately, however will be willing to wait for those suitable candidates who may be working their notice period. The role is temporary ongoing, however the school have been known to offer permanent contacts to supply staff.

Person Specification:

• Have experience of supporting pupils with Special Needs either in a School or a similar setting.
• Be confident supporting behaviours that challenge.
• Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to provide a new one.
• A Team Teach qualification is preferred, but not essential
