Job summary

Wood Field Primary School in Carshalton (Oak Field SEND Base) seeks a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEND, helping them engage with lessons and build confidence. You will work alongside teachers to provide targeted support and ensure inclusive learning experiences.

Role involves implementing behaviour strategies, preparing learning materials, and adapting resources for IEP/EHC targets. Inclusive, supportive teamwork is essential.

• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

At Oak Field SEND Base (As part of Wood Field Primary School), we believe that the right support can transform a child's educational experience. We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team and help pupils achieve success.

Working alongside teachers and other colleagues, you will provide targeted support that enables children to engage with learning, overcome challenges and develop the confidence and skills they need to flourish throughout their education.

What You Will Do As A SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Implement agreed-upon behaviour support strategies (e.g., Positive Behaviour Support plans) to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour.
• Prepare, set up, and tidy away learning materials, including specialized resources for sensory or physical needs.
• Assist the teacher in modifying and adapting learning materials (e.g., simplifying instructions, creating visual aids, using specialized equipment) to meet Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan targets.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:

• Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
