Job description

Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (SEND School)

Location: Sutton

Hours: Full-time, 8:55 AM - 3:45 PM

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a committed and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a SEND school in Sutton. This full-time role involves supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours across various age groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in line with individual education plans.
  2. Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  3. Work flexibly across different age groups, adapting to the unique needs of each class.
  4. Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development in a safe and nurturing environment.
  5. Implement behaviour management strategies effectively, promoting positive outcomes for students.
Requirements:
  1. Experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour (preferred but not essential).
  2. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience.
  3. Flexibility to work with various age groups and adapt to changing needs.
  4. A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
