Job summary

TipTopJob in Cambridge is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support in local secondary schools. This role focuses on learners with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH, helping them access the curriculum and participate in class.

You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists, implement EHCP targets, and use visual timetables and sensory breaks. The position is long-term and term-time, with daily pay rates and immediate Start.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in school, care, youth work, or personal SEND lived experience.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain; committed to safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Support emotional regulation and social confidence in mainstream or resource-base settings.
  • Collaborate with SENCO, parents, and therapists to track progress and adjust strategies.

SEN Teaching Assistant 1:1 Support Local Secondary Schools

Position: Full:Time, Long:Term (Term Time Only)

Salary: GBP88.92 : GBP100 per day (Weekly Pay)

Your Role as a 1:1 Specialist

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you are the bridge between the curriculum and the students unique way of learning.

  • Personalised Support: Work 1:1 to implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets using sensory breaks, visual timetables, and simplified tasks.
  • Emotional Coaching: Assist students in developing self:regulation skills and social confidence in a mainstream or resource:base setting.
  • Collaborative Reporting: Work closely with the SENCO, parents, and external therapists to track progress and adjust support strategies.
  • Inclusion Advocacy: Ensure every student, regardless of their needs, feels safe, valued, and included in school life.
