Job summary

Aspire People seeks a SEND Teacher for a mainstream primary school in Stechford, Birmingham. The SEND Hub houses eight pupils, delivering tailored learning and fostering essential life skills to help them reach their full potential.

You will collaborate with teaching assistants and other professionals to provide high-quality support in a warm, inclusive environment, including personal care duties when required. QTS is essential and SEND experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have previous experience working with children with SEND.
• Be confident supporting pupils across mixed primary age groups.
• Have a patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Be comfortable undertaking personal care duties, including toileting and changing nappies.
• Have strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Be passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their individual goals.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and supporting pupils with SEND.
• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual learning needs.
• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development.
• Working closely with teaching assistants, school staff and other professionals to provide high-quality support.
• Assisting pupils with personal care, including toileting and nappy changing, where required.
