Job summary

Monarch Education are seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Aston, Birmingham. This role suits an experienced SEND practitioner or a teacher with a strong interest in SEND who can make a meaningful difference.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND in a primary setting.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • Sound understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Patient, nurturing and committed to child-centred learning.
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals.
  • High expectations for all learners and a commitment to raising achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including ASC, SLCN, ADHD and SEMH needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the SENDCo, parents and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where needed.
  • Develop effective support plans and contribute to EHCP reviews and annual meetings.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement.

The Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, the SENDCo, parents and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where needed.
