Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a Walton, Surrey setting. You will deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND, collaborating with staff, parents, and external specialists to promote progress and independence.

The role requires QTS with SEND experience and knowledge of EYFS/KS1-KS2 frameworks. It offers a national teacher pay scale, ongoing PD, and a supportive SEND team.

Qualifications

  • QTS with postgraduate certificate/diploma in SEND (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years experience teaching pupils with SEND in a mainstream or specialist environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS/KS1-KS2 curriculum, statutory frameworks (SEND Code of Practice, EHC Regulations).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement IEPs aligned with guidance and school targets.
  • Deliver differentiated lessons and interventions in classroom and small groups.
  • Conduct regular assessments and monitor progress; adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide expert advice and training to mainstream teachers on differentiation and inclusive practice.
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies, and SENDCo for coordinated pupil development.
  • Maintain records and safeguarding documentation; contribute to SEND policies.

Job description

Position: SEND Teacher
Location: Walton, Surrey
Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00?am – 3:30?pm
Salary: Paid to scale

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teacher to join our inclusive primary/secondary setting in Walton, Surrey. You will deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction for pupils with a range of additional needs, collaborating closely with classroom staff, parents, and external specialists to promote academic progress, well-being, and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) aligned with statutory guidance and school targets.
  • Deliver tailored lessons, interventions, and support within the classroom and in one-to-one or small-group settings.
  • Conduct regular assessments, monitor progress, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide expert advice and training to mainstream teachers on differentiation and inclusive practice.
  • Liaise with parents, external agencies, and the SENDCo to ensure a coordinated approach to each pupil’s development.
  • Maintain accurate records, safeguarding documentation, and contribute to whole-school SEND policies.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a postgraduate certificate/diploma in SEND (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2?years experience teaching pupils with SEND in a mainstream or specialist environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS/KS1-KS2 curriculum, statutory frameworks (SEND Code of Practice, EHC Regulations).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and collaborative skills.
