Autism Specialist Teacher - September Start - Temp to Perm or Permanent Opportunity
Location: West London Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-resourced and inclusive school in West London seeking a qualified Autism Specialist Teacher to join their team from September. This role is available as either a permanent position or a temp-to-perm opportunity, depending on your preference.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and experienced teacher who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You'll be working in a nurturing environment with strong leadership and a collaborative SEN team.

Candidate profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching SEN children, particularly children with severe learning difficulties and autism.
  • Experience working with EQUALS curriculum would be beneficial.
  • Experience with non-linear developmental assessment frameworks (e.g., Routes for Learning, SCERTS) would be beneficial.
  • Passion for working with SEN children.

Key Requirements:

  • QTS or PGCE (essential)
  • DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one
  • Experience working with and supporting children with Autism and severe learning difficulties
  • Experience working with EQUALS curriculum would be beneficial
  • Experience with non-linear developmental assessment frameworks (e.g., Routes for Learning, SCERTS) would be beneficial
  • DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for background checks
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies and differentiated teaching
  • A patient, empathetic approach to behaviour and learning support
